He hadn't been stretching the truth at all when he said he was looking forward to a chance to catch up with Cal. Nor had Cal been exaggerating when he'd said it was rare that they were at the temple at the same time, much less able to sit down and share a meal and time together. It was true for a lot of friendships in the Order - people being pulled different directions, schedules off, ships in the night etc - and it was more true since the war had begun in earnest.
He doesn't spend any unusual amount of time cleaning up or worrying about his appearance - he's too Jedi for that - but he does take the time to clean up after his harrowing brush with death as Anakin's passenger. When he gets word that the medical droid has released Cal, he suggests that rather than going to the dining hall Cal just come to his quarters. There's no (necessarily ) ulterior motives for that, beyond it being easier to catch up in a quieter environment.
When the chime at the door announces that Cal's there he opens the door and greets him there. "Tea is ready, food is not quite and you look - better than I expected you to." That... wasn't saying much, especially not freshly released from medical.

He bid BD-1 goodbye who happily chirped from his charging station and he made his way along a familiar path to Master Kenobi's quarters. Cal can't help but laugh at Obi Wan's greeting. Typical. "You know, I think I'm going to take that as a compliment and not read into it any further." he responds with a knowing smile. He appreciates it.
"I knew you'd have tea." he says, laughter bubbling up and filling the entryway. "Was actually hoping you'd have some, you always manage to get your hands on the most exotic of flavors" he complimented, "What are we going to enjoy tonight?"
Cal can't help but take in the unchanged sight of his quarters, it was as homey as ever, warm and inviting, just like it's occupant. "I picked this up at the market, hoping it will go with dinner." he says holding up his favorite bread from the local Courasant market stalls. If I'd known I was going to have a dinner invitation, I would have picked up a bottle of Corellian Wine or something."

He gestured Cal the rest of the way into his quarters as he took the bread from him. "The tea is Cassius - Mandalorian. Supposedly it is good for healing." Please do read something into that Cal, because there is certainly a message in it. "And blame the tea habit firmly on Qui-Gon. He poured so many cups down my throat I was bound to either develop a habit or a hatred."
Then, moving reluctantly away to put the bread on a counter in the small kitchen alcove he asked, back still turned - "How long are you here? Do you know?"

Cal's right eyebrow shoots straight up as he hears which tea Obi Wan has selected for them to sip on while their meals finishes. Thoughtful sneaky bastard. "Oh how appropriate." he responds in a tone that clearly states he knows what Obi Wan is up to, but there is not heat with it, because, well, it is rather thoughtful of him. "Yes that is true isn't it. He always had a mug of hot tea with every meal - i had forgotten about that." He says thoughtfully remembering his days as a Padawan.
Here for a least a few more days. Master Yoda states that I need to time to rest and recuperate before my next assignment, so i'm thinking at least a few days. "How about yourself, what have you been up too? Where are you off to next? Tell me all the updates."
no subject
He passes the tea to Cal with a slight smile and leans back against the counter with his own. "I'm here for several days as well, though I haven't much of an update. It seems the Senate is making a habit of rotating through the High Generals, calling us in to give reports. It was my turn."
He'd rather be anywhere else, for any other reason. "I'll meet Cody and go back wherever my men are after I leave here." Nothing exciting. "Now, can I get some real information on your physical condition or will I have to go looking for myself?"
no subject
He grimaced when Obi Wan mentioned the Senate and that was the worst part of being a Jedi, and something that always conflicted him. Jedi were supposed to be Peacekeepers, yet they were asked to lead attacks more and more as the war went on.
The sudden change of subject took him by surprise, and while the thought of having Obi Wan take a look a Cal's physical condition with a more hands on approach, he'd much rather it was for different reasons than a medical check up, so in natural Cal Kestis form, he waves off the concern, "I'm absolutely fine." he starts as he takes another sip of his 'healing tea'. "Muscles are just sore from climbing the Great Tree on Kashyyyk. It was quite the challenge, even after all the training." He says nonchalantly. "Does Cody or Anakin put up with your mother Hen-ness?" he says with a teasing smile.

He hates reporting to the senate, and he doesn't love serving in combat, but both are his duty and he will do them.
He snorts into the rim of his mug and looks back at Cal with a wry, dry expression. "Anakin tolerates it, though with a good deal of complaining. Cody not at all, but given that he won't quite stop trying to mother-hen me I don't intend to stop any time soon. Shoulder's all right then?" Cal's, he means. He wants to be reasonably sure.
no subject
How does he do that? How does he always know when Cal is hiding something, or playing off something as insignificant when it really wasn't.
He gives Kenobi another look, he can read it to it whichever way he likes thank you very much, and lets out a sigh. "Overall they're fine yes." he responds like a petulant padawan, "just sore and aches is all, there was A LOT of climbing over the past few days, and I'm not as light as I used to be...not as young as I used to be either." he responds, letting his free hand raise up and rub at the stiffness subconsciously as he responds.

Cal's more honest this way than he is, though, more willing to admit when really pushed. Cal's also a better person than Obi-Wan.
He puts his mug of tea down when Cal reaches for his own shoulder. "Come here." It's a request not any kind of demand though, and the fact that he's even instigating touch like this? Is a big thing. It just isn't something Obi-Wan does. Anakin, occasionally Ashoka, but other than them, a pat on the shoulder or necessary contact? He just doesn't.

Cal is moving towards the Stewjonian before he even finishes his request and settles down on the ground in front of him, kneeling as if he were about to meditate. He is hoping with all the force possible that his slight blush that is threatening to creep up his neck and to his ears remains at bay and unnoticed by the other man.

Meaning that their contact with one another was most definitely not casual, in any regard. He is, however, very tactile with Cal.
He blinks at Cal kneeling a couple of times to shift his mindset a bit, but it's a pretty subtle thing. "Spin around so I can get at your shoulder more easily, please."
((OOC: You're fine!))

Cal grins to himself and then up at Obi-Wan, before he turns around slowly, facing the desired direction as requested. "Certainly." he adds, just to be a bit more cheeky.
It wasn't often he can let his guard down and enjoy banter with the other man, or hell, anyone. Ut was refreshing. Sexual innuendos and erotic teasing were one of the many things the jedi counsel did not approve of. Not that he necessarily agreed with thousand year old traditions, especially when it seemed like the majority of the counsel and those holding the jedi title has secret relationships that did not make them any less selfless or inhibit their ability to focus on the goal of peace, but that is a matter for another time.

Which was a very long way around of saying yes, he had a secret relationship. So did many of the others. Yes, it was against the rules. No, he didn't feel it posed any enormous conflict because even without discussion he knew both he and Cal (or anyone else) knew where the lines were and that the first priority would always be duty.
Not that he was thinking clearly of those things at the moment. He laughed a little when Cal turned around. "Not that I minded the other, but for your shoulder this is probably easier." He waved a hand to turn the heat under the simmering pasta sauce down, and then used the other hand to gently probe around Cal's shoulder, tracing muscle and bone and making sure he wasn't going to make it worse.
Then started, pretty methodically and firmly but with a kind of... care, anyway, working some of the tightness out. "Days of climbing or not it sounds like it was at least one of the more interesting missions we've seen, lately."
no subject
"Yeah, I suppose it was one of the more pleasant missions, the worst part about it was sleeping outside in the heat and humidity, so I can't really complain, compared to some other assignments I've received lately and some that those are on now." He starts then lets out a laugh which morphs into a moan when Obi-Wan worked out a particular tight knot in his shoulder. "The council must have felt my complaining through the force, i went from assignemnts in Tatooine, Geonosis, back to Tatooine, then Jakku. If i ever get assigned to another desert planet it will be too soon. Kashyyyk was a nice chnage and a breath of fresh air, though i'm still holding out for cooler planet." he finishes. At the same time, he lets his torso lean back so it is resting against the feet of Obi-Wan's chair, and the back of his head resting against the soft fabric and tilts his head up to catch Kenobi's eyes.
"Thank you." he says softly, not dropping his gaze as he lets out a large sigh of contentment. "You had any interesting missions lately?" he asks, not moving from his soft and intimate position. He hasn't had the chance to 'cuddle' or be close to or have any type of tactile physical affection in many rotations, he can't help but seek it out now in this moment.
